Hi everyone,
Today marks the last DMCoP meeting of 2018! It was a meeting full of retrospection as well as discussions about the future.
We started out with a “Year in Review” roundtable where everyone shared their favourite highlights from projects they undertook in the past year, such as Jamie’s carpool karaoke, Chris and Kirk’s MOA 360 tour, and the launching of two podcasts for Duncan.
Rosemary then led us on a discussion on 2019’s Digital Media in Education conference, the official website for which should be going live soon. This year’s themes are Production Foundations, User Engagement, Beyond the Hype, and Collaboration Diversity. There are plans to hold workshops in the days leading up to the conference itself, and there will also likely be a dinner cruise as the special event. DME 2019 will take place May 7-9 at UBC’s Okanagan campus.
Finally, Michael, Chris, and Duncan shared a bit about the DIY Media Training Sessions they’ve been facilitating this past year and discussed the workshops lined up for next year.
