Meeting Minutes: April 2021

Thank you for joining us at the April Digital Media Community of Practice – it was great to meet all of you and catch up during this busy time!

Here is a overview of what was discussed:

Operations: A few updates from our working groups and many topics were discussed.

The podcasting group will be conducting another meeting in early May, please contact Duncan McHugh via email or Teams if you’re interested in joining and taking part.

General updates from departments on projects that they’re working on. We won’t be listing them all here, but let’s just say many exciting projects coming down the pipeline for all of our departments, new gear for some teams, Looking forward to some presentations on them in the next Community of Practice meeting!

A discussion in regards to where we get our stock music tracks. Many were listed, including: freemusicarchive.com/ritualmusic.com/www.epidemicsound.com/premiumbeat.com/artlist.io.

Future items for discussion and presentation. Quite a few were mentioned and will be added on to the current list:

Equity and Inclusion in Media and within our Teams
Copyright materials: what is allowed? lecture content and communications.
Finding someone that could talk about stock music in general and how to best use it so it doesn’t get flagged (even after licensing).
Bringing back DIY workshops, a meeting will be set after graduation in which this will be further discussed. Also to be sure to liaison with CTLT for promotion and creation of events.
