  •  Introductions
    • Welcome to everyone new for joining us!
  • DIY Workshops
    • Michael is currently working with the DIY Working group on 6-7 workshops that will focus on Adobe Creative Suite, Creative Briefs, Scripting & Storyboarding, Production, Post Production, and Podcasting.

  • Volumetric Video Test
    • Almost 30 cameras were used
    • Been aligning all the shots
    • It’s definitely possible but room for improvement
    • Issues with contrast, clothing matched with background
    • Few more shots to process!
    • 920 frames

  • Vendor List
    • Semi-protected but can be accessed by anyone from the CoP
    • CWL and password protected (email an.wang@ubc.ca for details)
    • You can put down department’s equipment, just email Andrew your CWL and you can be added
    • Possibly add comment section under each vendor
      • What equipment they bought
      • Don’t rant, stick to what we need to know
    • Need to be logged into CMS System
  • Operations
    • Single block year-round (repeated)
    • Send agenda two weeks before
    • Second Thursday of every month
    • No meetings in December (debatable – we will send out invitations and see the turnout) and summer months
  • Going ahead with DME 2020
    • Don’t know the theme yet
    • Only people from UBC
    • Full scale in Okanagan
    • Maybe one day Vancouver can host it
  • Round Table
    • Duncan
      • HI-8 tape player and goes to HDMI
      • 8mm film
      • Cineworks has 8mm
      • ARTS ISIT in Buchanan might have HI-8 equipment
    • Bringing in someone from legal to talk about copyright and IP (when are we allowed to film, do we need signs, moral rights, public space, etc.) – talk with Andrew and Rosemary
    • Different kinds of forms
      • What input does the talent have when it comes to the release forms
      • How do we indicate that someone doesn’t want their photo taken
        • If it’s a public event, put notices up
        • In classrooms, ask them to go into a section where we don’t film (need advanced approval)
      • We should talk about the future more around UBC and CoP
        • What are we not doing?
        • How are we designing stories?
        • What software is everyone using? Can we share licenses?
      • UBCO has launched an emerging media initiative
        • Joel is leading that
        • Will share more with everyone when she gets more info
