Agenda Items
Videos that inspire and motivate you.
- The 1st item on our Agenda was requested by our meeting facilitator Rosemary. Members shared videos that they felt were motivating and inspiring. The list is below.
- “Symmetry” – A video shared by Duncan that highlights symmetry in life.
- “Monster Energy: Ryan Hipwood ‘The Right” – A video shared by Matt that highlights the technical use of different video techniques and effects.
- “Grant for Sustainability Research” – A video shared and produced by UBC Studios Okanagan demonstrating quick turnaround and editing capabilities.
- “First Skate” – A video shared by Chris on how a video can be short yet powerful while still utilizing many resources and planning. Concise is not always easy.
Update Digital Media in Education 2019
- Rosemary updated us on the DME 2019 conference. She would like to create a CoP team similar to that of the 2017 DME conference to coordinate and plan out the conference.
- Please contact Rosemary if you are interested in being part of this group.
- The planned time for the conference will be tentatively set around the end of April start of May at UBCO – please mark your Calendars!
“For a Better BC”
- This is a new UBC marketing campaign that Jamil introduced us to.
- You can view the website for this campaign here.
- He also hopes to use the campaign as an opportunity to learn about user engagement on the different media platforms.
For the next meeting:
- Please think about any potential speakers or presenters (can be external) that would benefit the community.
- If there is any new technology or technique you have encountered or thought would be interesting to share/showcase, please let me know!
- If there are any projects that you would like to do a presentation on, please let us know as well!
